I know of several common superstitions such as avoiding walking under ladders, breaking a mirror bringing seven years of bad luck, and the belief that a black cat crossing your path is a sign of bad luck. Additionally, some people believe in the superstition of knocking on wood to ward off bad luck or to ensure good luck. These superstitions are often passed down through generations and vary across different cultures and regions. **

Superstitions are beliefs or practices that are based on fear of the unknown or irrational beliefs in supernatural forces. They often involve specific actions or rituals that are believed to bring good luck or ward off bad luck. Myths, on the other hand, are traditional stories or legends that are used to explain natural phenomena, cultural customs, or the origins of the world. They often involve gods, heroes, or supernatural beings and are passed down through generations. Both superstitions and myths are deeply rooted in cultural beliefs and can have a significant impact on people's behavior and worldview. **

Some common Russian superstitions include the belief that it is bad luck to shake hands or give an even number of flowers, as these are associated with funerals. Additionally, spilling salt is thought to bring bad luck, and the only way to counteract it is to throw a pinch of the spilled salt over your left shoulder. There are several superstitions about rabbits, with one of the most well-known being that saying "rabbit, rabbit, rabbit" on the first day of the month brings good luck for the rest of the month. In some cultures, rabbits are also seen as symbols of fertility and abundance, and it is believed that carrying a rabbit's foot can bring good luck. However, in some folklore, rabbits are also associated with trickery and deceit, and it is considered bad luck to have a rabbit cross your path. Overall, rabbits are often seen as both lucky and unlucky symbols in different superstitions. **
